Dave Barr is a rugged, extraordinary adventurer who rode a 1972 Harley Davidson around the world… despite the loss of both his legs from an antitank mine explosion in Angola in 1981. His trip, from September 1990 to May 1994, covered six continents and over 83,000 miles. It took 3½ years! Dave crossed the Sahara, the Namib and the Gobi deserts, circled the continent of Australia and negotiated the Andes during avalanche season.
He’s the first person wit a major disability to circle the world both north-south and east-west… on a motorcycle. His exciting journey helped to raise awareness for people with disabilities, and prompted television documentaries in Russia and China.
