Sir Winston Churchill made history through perseverance. With his lack of sharpness of mind he couldn’t make it to the accepted standard at school. His parents decided to move him to Harrow where he was trained under Dr. Welldon. At his graduation, he was number 8 out of 150. During his school graduation speech, he stood up and only stated: “Never, ever give up” and sat down. This statement became his motivation factor throughout his life. This is an example of what perseverance can do if we look at the life-story of the man who was called “The man of the century”. (20th Century)
